City council approves overnight parklet news pilot to boost small cafes
The Riverfront City Council voted 7-2 on Tuesday to allow neighborhood cafes that already have permitted parklets to keep seating open until midnight for a six month trial period. Restaurant owners argued that extended hours would help them recoup pandemic losses and keep kitchen staff employed.
